"A very welcoming, accepting and non judgmental environment. People at the band understand that disabled children often behave differently and my son’s behaviour is accepted and I do not feel embarrassed. My weekend would not be the same without the Rainbow Band."

"My son and I have been going to the Rainbow Band for over seven years. We travel all the way from Chadderton which is quite a way but it is worth it for the quiet support and friendly atmosphere at the Band. We often go out after the session which I find very enjoyable because of the camaraderie we share. My son and I have made firm friendship due to the understanding of other band members."

"I heard about the band and the Toy Library when my son started school. I wanted to meet other parents of disabled children because I felt quite isolated. I have found the band a lovely place to be on a Saturday and my son and I have a lovely fun time."

"My daughter and I have been going to the Rainbow Band since she was 2 and she is now 22 and at college. For some of that time her sister also attended as she enjoyed meeting other children who had a disabled sibling. My older daughter is now at residential college but chooses to go to the band when she is at home because it is a rare opportunity for her to meet her friends again. I have found the band to be good fun for myself and my daughter."

"I used to attend the Rainbow Band when my son was young and he loved it. He especially loved the HATS song and still sings it. He now sings it to his baby nephew.”
