Delamere Toy Library

Outreach service

In an effort to be inclusive Delamere Toy Library provides an Outreach Service for members who are unable to visit the base in Flixton.

One Outreach Worker, Jan, is funded by SureStart to work specifically with:

  • Childminders
  • Mother and toddler groups
  • Playgroups
  • Pre-school groups

More information on Jan's Outreach services.

The second Outreach Worker, Margaret, works at the Toy Library in Flixton on Wednesday and Friday and therefore has limited outreach time. Her calls vary depending on the needs of the member. For the majority it enables access to our large selection of toys. However, other members may require specifically adapted toys to help disabled children enjoy play or develop skills. Below are examples of some of Margaret’s previous and present outreach members:

  • Disabled adults living in the community
  • A group of disabled children from a local school
  • A respite home for disabled children and young adults
  • Child Development Clinics for disabled babies and children
  • Families with sick or disabled children
  • Pre-school children groups
  • After school groups
  • Nurseries
  • A ‘pick up’ and ‘drop off’ service for members without transport who need help with larger toys
  • Opening the Toy Library for invited group.
